Our baby hammocks are the perfect place for your baby to feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed to get their much-needed rest, but sometimes they need a little extra helping hand.

You can give them that with our hammock stiffener, an insert that helps create more room inside either the baby hammock or twin baby hammock, and also allows them to lie on a flatter surface if that’s what they prefer.

The silky-soft duveted fabric is made from organic cotton while the inside is filled with naturally hypoallergenic coconut fiber.

It’s a simple but effective way of helping your baby sleep better and more often.

The hammock is designed to fit snugly around the baby and provide comfort, but as the baby grows, space becomes limited. We recommend that you purchase a hammock stiffener to provide the baby with firm support.

A hammock stiffener is an additional inlay that you can place into your baby hammock either underneath or on top of the kapok mattress or instead of it. It slightly flattens and extends the base of the hammock to give your baby more space and provide firm support as they grow.

 

No, the hammock stiffener does not come in the bundle and must be purchased separately.

 

Most customers use the hammock stiffener on its own by simply placing it in the hammock. You can choose to combine it with the kapok mattress or not. If combining, place the stiffener in the sewn-in pocket and then put the kapok mattress loosely in the hammock, as there is not enough space for both mattresses in the sewn-in pocket.

 

The kapok mattress, which comes with your baby hammock, is made of soft and light kapok fibers to provide a cozy and snug environment for your baby. The stiffener, on the other hand, is an additional inlay that can be purchased once your baby has grown to provide firm support and create more space inside the hammock.

 

Yes, the stiffener is made of natural and organic coconut fibers encased in 100% organic cotton to ensure that the fabric is soft to the touch while the stiffener itself provides the desired firmness. All materials are chemical-free and have not been treated with any chemicals prior to harvesting.

 

As with any type of mattress or lying base, signs of wear and tear are normal. However, without major spills or accidents, the hammock stiffener is very durable and can be safely and comfortably used for many years.

 

Yes, the stiffener can be used in both the baby hammock and the twin baby hammock.

 

The hammock stiffener can theoretically affect the temperature within the hammock, as anything you add can impact the temperature. However, as it lies underneath the baby and the airflow around it from the top, front, back, and sides is not obstructed, air circulation should not be affected if used correctly, minimizing the impact on temperature.

 

We recommend starting to use the stiffener from around 3-4 months of age. The duration of use depends on your preferences and those of your baby.

 

The hammock stiffener from Moonboon was designed for Moonboon baby hammocks and has been tested with these. It may fit in baby hammocks from other brands, but we cannot recommend its use with those as it has not been tested.

 

The hammock stiffener is not water resistant. If you want to protect it from small spills and accidents, we recommend purchasing a waterproof mattress protector to place on top of the stiffener.

 

The hammock stiffener can safely support up to 20 kg.

 

No, you do not need to change anything about your baby hammock. Simply place the stiffener inside the hammock, and if you wish, you can remove the kapok mattress, although this is not necessary.

 

You can leave your hammock stiffener outdoors to air out at any time of the year, and you can also use it outdoors in the baby hammock if you wish. However, we do not recommend leaving it exposed to sun or rain for prolonged periods as this may damage the natural fibers within the stiffener.

 

No, the stiffener is made of 100% natural and organic materials—coconut fibers and organic cotton—and does not contain memory foam, which would require synthetic fibers to be added.

 

Yes, just put the hammock stiffener underneath the kapok mattress.

 

We recommend using the stiffener from around 3-4 months, depending on the baby's weight and size. The stiffener is an add-on to the hammock that provides more space. It is not a requirement to have or use the stiffener.
